VB.NET 2008 - I am lost
« on: June 06, 2010, 12:53:46 PM »
Title says it all.  I'm using Visual Studio 2008, programming with VB.NET, and I am lost on how to start with 3impact.  I saw a few older posts with .dll's to download, but the links are out dated.  I'm not sure I understand what to do with them anyways once I had them.

I just really don't understand getting started in 3d with VB.NET.  DirectX, SlimDX, OpenGL, etc are all just too confusing, and from the main page "3Impact - Free 3D Engine: Easy, Powerful SDK!" I thought would be better to start with, but it isn't.

I don't want to make the next MMORPG...I just want to progress slow to render some stuff on the screen, and hopefully be able to upgrade a program I am working on to have a small viewport with a couple of 3d objects rolling around inside it.

So, if there is any tutorials that I happen to be overlooking, I would appreciate a point in the right direction as I have been unable to find anything which explains how to get started for morons.

Thanks for any help :)

Hi there Taledus.
Maybe what you are looking for is a very easy 3D visual game engine that will help you get started in 3D. 3d Rad is free, and very easy to use, and there is a great community that is willing to help. Take a peek at http://www.3drad.com
Hope this helps.
