here's a quick look at some mistakes that popped up while i was coding some day/night
algorithms...

surprised me... they don't look that bad, eh... i hope i'm lucky enough to stumble on a few
more mistakes like these  ;D

Can't even tell what the mistake is so it seems good to me :)

uuhhh, it's supposed to be 11 AM...

otherwise, ignoring that,  you're right...  it does look kinda neat... eh   ;D

still trying to get a decent day night transition... but yeah, i'm gonna tryin to get
something like this in...

would've been nice if this was in fact, the effect that i was trying to do  ;D

more surprises today while trying to add some volumetric cloud effects...

surprise 1 was that the frame rate remained pretty constant, and the moving
object (the sub), didn't appear to be affected by the addition of an array of
82 meshes... along with the 3 rain meshes, and all the uv movement going on...

coool...

the next couple of surprises are the ones worth looking at though...

the first one i call fake bloom surprise  ;D

i've got to figure out why the clouds are getting overlit... or whatever...
anyways,  it sorta looked like the bloom effect that is so the rage nowadays...

here's another... same basic effect... sorta reminded me of a scene from
King Kong, where the boat is heading into a mysterious, forbidding looking fog bank...

i'm always surprised when an effect i'm trying to get comes out completely different
than what i'm expecting... kinda fun... as long as i don't lock up the machine  ;D ;D

well...that's enough for tonight... gotta find something to heat up for dinner... later

that's neat. :)

if I had to guess I would say you have the fog render settings on multiply or something.

looks cool none the less.

BTW, 82 meshes is nothing for 3impact I've noticed. ;) but when it gets into that 500-1000 mesh area things start to bog down.
