Free Drag Racing Game for your PC

Compete in futuristic drag racing tournaments!

Do you know NHRA / IHRA official drag racing rules? Don't cross the centerline, don't touch the guardrail, don't ram your opponent off the track, and so on? Well, forget them! There is just one simple rule here: cross the finish line first!

However, if you like, you can switch to breakout-rule mode, which is inspired by real life drag racing contests. See below for details.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  • PC, Windows 98/ME/2000/XP and Microsoft DirectX.
  • Video and audio performance of the game can be extensively adjusted. If you own a midrange PC, you can run it at maximum rendering quality and smooth frame rates. On older systems, it will run at smooth frame rates with lower rendering quality settings.
  • On very old systems (for example 166Mhz cpu, early 3d video card) it will work only if the video card manufacturer provides an updated driver which supports Direct3D advanced features.
  • FEATURES

  • Accurate car dynamics simulation for realistic collisions and crashes.
  • Advanced simulation of race physics for realistic manoeuvres, like running with the front wheels off the ground!
  • Replay mode to examine any race and to see again any crash.
  • Eight interactive camera modes (during both race and replay), onboard, following, helicopter and zoomed distant views.
  • Fully configurable car settings. Power, brake, tire, weight can be extensively tuned for each single wheel!
  • Up to 10,000 horsepower to unleash!
  • Extensive race statistics. E.T., top speed, average speed, partial times, acceleration and more.
  • Single elimination tournament with 32 drivers sorted among up to 200 different opponents.
  • Automatic generation of new opponents derived from your own race results.
  • Generated alteregos are simple files that can be exchanged with friends by e-mail for massive multiplayer offline tournaments. You can send your own painted car along with your best alterego. You can form clans with your friends and challenge other clans on the Net!
  • The body of any car can be painted by using a paint program.
  • Mouse, gamepad, joystick and steering wheel support.
  • Optional breakout rule racing mode.
  • ABOUT THE BREAKOUT RULE

Before starting a tournament you can switch the breakout rule on or off.

  • If the breakout rule is off, at the start of each race the green light is lit simultaneously for both cars. This race mode is very simple. It's all about setting your four-engine car to the maximum power available and being skilled enough to control all that power. And we are talking about thousands of horsepower a wheel!
  • If the breakout rule is on, things get more challenging. Just like in real world drag racing contests, before each race, you have to predict what your elapsed time will be. This predicted E.T. is called 'dial-in'. The slower car is given a head start equivalent to the difference between the two dial-in's. Also, if a car runs faster than its declared dial-in, it breaks out, and loses the race. Basically, the breakout rule is an equalizer that allows two drivers of different skill to race against each other on a potentially equal basis. Except for subtle and dirty tricks that give an advantage to the car performing better, both a rookie and a champion have potentially the same probability of winning. Like for real drag races, the breakout rule makes the whole game more enjoyable and challenging.
  • How do I skip all cpu-only races and go straight to my races?

During the tournament, keep pressing/releasing the [A] key, until it no longer takes effect. Then press [C], set your car parameters and then press [C] again to go.

I can't control my super car!

To improve your racing car stability, reduce tyre efficiency for the front wheels to about 35%. Increasing the front wheels weight and reducing the brake efficiency, will help too.
